I was drawing this bird under the impression of ‘The Boy and the Heron’ movie, where its transformation reminded me of a person’s constant becoming. A bird of death and rebirth, a life cycle, appeared in watercolour patches and ink lines – as a human attempt to control the stream of being.
The painting was created for the ‘Birdtober 2024’ art challenge.
