Long-billed Murrelet, a decreasing species from the Palearctic Realm. Unlike the ancient murrelet, the chicks are long fed before getting into the sea, but opposite to those, they are being nested inland, on conifers.
The painting was created only with a black drawing pen. After months of using vivid watercolour, I decided to switch to black and white illustrations and more refinement. As a reminder of the overwhelming reality that often conceals the essence under the bright plumage.
