Shared habitat
Inspired by a visit to Cape St. Mary’s in the summer of 2025, this linocut captures a gathering of northern gannets and kittiwakes perched among the rugged cliffs above the Atlantic. The birds, pale against the deep blue of the sea, create a lively contrast with the weathered rock and quiet expanse of water. The scene stayed with me after the visit and became the inspiration for this print, created a year later as a way of returning to that particular place through the process of linocut.
