thistle
Thistle flower, while invasive and not native to Canada (originates in Scotland), reminds me of its relative, burdock, which was one of the funny plants I used to play with in my childhood. Thistle, though, contributes to Atlantic Canada’s botanical fine carpet, bringing bold colours and distinct textures.
Thistle reduction linocut print. A small edition of 27 prints, 6 colored layers.
The size of the image itself is 6×6 inches (8.5×9 inches with a border).
