This piece is an original, handcrafted linocut print. It has been printed from a hand-cut linocut block on Japanese washi paper, using a glass baren and quality Caligo oil-based ink for the print longevity.
Rock and Wing features a puffin perched on a rock, with wings still up in the air – just after landing, or maybe about to ascend again. Printed in Payne’s grey, Rock and Wing captures that slightly awkward, determined pause, balanced between weight and lift, rest and takeoff.
